Hello everyone and welcome to my NFL-only hot take on the best plays in the league. This week I wasn’t able to get a college edition in, but I’m taking the time to take a swing at what has been the better half of my picks I’ve Got A Phelan on. Let’s take a calculated and zeroed-in approach to the NFL gauntlet set to take place.
Upset Of The Week
New York Jets (+280) over the Buffalo Bills (-350): The odds makers are apparently still high on Buffalo despite the abysmal performances they have put out. I get in on paper this team should dominate most of their opponents, but something feels broken. Chemistry dismantled, management gruntled, and turnovers galore. After falling victim to a stout Denver defense things get arguably that much harder against the Jets electric defense. The offense perhaps though is as impotent if not more so than the Broncos. I just simply would not be surprised to see the Bills drop this battle in the North East.
Money Line
Los Angeles Chargers (-162) over Green Bay Packers (+142): The Chargers offense is finding it’s groove now. After losing an explosive battle that left the field smoldering in Detroit last week. The defense is questionable, but the offense is undeniable. Green Bay hasn’t been much of a threat all year and I think the Chargers bolt past them.
Spread
Seattle Seahawks (+ 1 and 1/2 at -108) over Los Angeles Rams (-1 and 1/2 at -112): Jumping off my Los Angeles high horse I look at what I figure to be the embarrassing side of the city this week. I find these odds interesting, but I’m not going question it. Yes LA beat them in week one, but it’s a different season now. I’m not big on Seattle over all, but facts are they are 6-3 and have played well rounded ball. LA is sporadic and inconsistent and it’s lead them to 3-6. I got a Phelan they get outplayed and outclassed this week.
Probable Props
Dipping into my love for alliteration we have an extra edition to the article this week . Here some probable props to bring in some extra cash flow.
Michael Mayer anytime TD (+500): The second round TE for the Las Vegas Raiders has seen his target share and production go up in recent weeks. New head coach Antoni Pierce seems to have a vision for him pulling in his first TD of the year last week. He appears to be a new red zone target emerging and I think he gets in again this week.
Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes to have 55+ plus rushing yards each. (+1100): With the game of the week falling on MNF I expect the pass rush of both squads to be hyper. With check down man Dallas Godert out and KC looking a lot less explosive this year in the skill position department I expect both QB’s to tuck and run this week with success.
I hope this weeks NFL focuses analysis does you well the rest of this football weekend. Play smart. Trust your gut. Always stick to the strongest Phelan you got. The corniness is coming to a conclusion now. I hope y’all have a great Sunday and enjoy it in whatever manner suits you best. Farewell folks and as always good luck!
