Welcome folks to the 9th week of this wild, wacky, yet wonderful season of football. I’ve Got A Phelan is rolling strong after nailing BOTH upset of the week calls last week. (Let me see the parlay odds on that.) Plus a few other standard predictions falling our way. Hopefully we spooked the odds makers with the wins from Halloween weekend and now it’s time to stuff our wallets just in time for the Thanksgiving (not Christmas) season!
Upsets of the week
NCAA Prediction
Virginia Tech (+305) over Louisville (-375): In this ACC showdown the Hokies are looking to build off back to back double digit wins. Louisville is riding high after shutting out Duke, but they’ve looked vulnerable against lesser appointment and VT is looking to close that gap between them and second place Louisville. If this Hokies pass rush can pokey (week 9, gotta bust a rhyme) some holes in the offensive line of Louisville like they have the last two opponents then they will have the edge and get the W.
NFL Prediction
Chicago Bears (+315) over New Orleans Saints (-385): Ima be honest here. Most of these lines are really close this week in the NFL so I don’t per say LOVE this pick, but I gotta work with what I got. I’ll admit to being a Raiders fan personally and I hope they won’t scare off to many readers, but that does mean I know Carr. If you watched last week you’d say he had a top 5 performance of the week. That tends to mean he’ll do something leaving you scratching your head the next week. Losing to the Bears would be head scratching material. I like the relatively unknown QB Bagent to surprise this stingy Saints defense and do some things that aren’t on his already very limited tape. DJ Moore will pop off and leave the Saints with the same feeling my very own Raiders felt a couple weeks ago. Utter disbelief..
Money Line Predictions
NCAA Prediction
Texas A&M (+122) over Ole Miss (-142): With the headlines focused on the defense I see this one being a gritty, nasty, ole school football game. A fight for every inch. TD’s by BOTH defenses. In the end the Aggie’s want to spoil any hope Ole Miss has at that SEC West title and I think they are going to get that done.
NFL Prediction
Miami (+105) over the Kanas City Chiefs (-125): Did and may ESPN forgive Patrick Mahomes look mortal last week? Sure he was fighting the flu, but I know of another “GOAT” who played a pretty dang good game with the flu. I’m sure y’all heard about it. Anyways I think the secret to downing this Goliath team in KC is out. Keep Taylor Swift out of the stadium. Seriously though. They look mortal and I know one Tyreek Hill is about to treat the football field as his own personal autobahn in this German classic. Facing his formal team expect him and the Miami offense to make KC defend every blade of grass and then some.
Spread Predictions
NCAA Prediction
Norte Dame (-3) at -110 over Clemson (+135): Simply put ND has looked really good these last two weeks and Clemson is 0-2 the last two weeks. One team hot. One team cold. 3 points towards ND feels like a gift. Looking to get back into the top 10 I expect another statement out of the Fighting Irish and the put down the Tigers with a sad whimper.
NFL Prediction
Philadelphia Eagles (-3 at -105) over the Dallas Cowboys (+3 at -115): In this always explosive NFC East showdown the Eagles fly high and affirm themselves at the top of their respective division and perhaps even conference. Heck maybe the top of the entire NFL. AJ Brown is a dangerous man and looking to rewrite the record books. What better team to do that against than the historic Cowboys. If the eagles can make a statement this week then be on high alert. No one will want to stand in the way of the Bulld…. Eagles! My bad the Georgia Bulldog presence is overwhelming at times. Oh and by the way did you know Jalen Hurts squats 600 pounds?
Wolverine Winner
JJ McCarthy OVER 238.5 passing yards, Blake Corum OVER 82.5 rushing yards, and Roman Wilson at least one TD for parlay odds of (+354): After a good showing against the winless bye week Michigan’s offense comes out and puts on a show. I see a lot of overs hitting and this three way combo seems reasonable to me. Put some money down on your favorite MU player and watch them boil over the lines set against them versus the Boilermakers.
Well y’all I hope Week 9 is good to you and that I’m part of the reason why. I hope everyone stayed safe over the latest holiday and we can spend this month being thankful, eating carbs, and making money. As always this is Jaden Phelan and the I Got A Phelan sports book guide wishing you good luck and big wins. Thank y’all for the read. I hope y’all will be back next week!
