Sleeping With Sirens dropped a new single on March 19 titled “An Ending In Itself” and its tugging at my emo heart strings in the best way.
The song opens and you’re instantly hit with this nostalgic emo sound of the early 2000s, while lyrics are incredibly encouraging. Kellin Quinn’s very distinct voice lets us know to “not give up” despite life’s hardships and the hardships of mental health, while reminding us we’re not alone.
The song encourages communication and a positive outlook if we persevere, which has me listening on repeat when I need a boost of encouragement. Toward the end of the song, we’re met with a harder edge to the song that had my jaw dropped.
Last year, Sleeping With Sirens had to drop out of some festivals they had been slotted to play due to some family matters (we hope all is well on that front). However this year, if you’ve been wanting to catch them, they’re slotted to play Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Fla., several stops of the Vans Warped Tour, Inkcarceration in Ohio and more. You can check their official website for tour dates, ticket information, and of course to stay up to date on their new music. It seems like the band is entering a new era and possibly a new album is on the way.
At least thats what I’m hoping for!
Let us know your thoughts on the song below, and if you’ll be catching them on tour this festival season!
