Breaking Bad had its swan song this past year, and Walter White certainly won’t be coming back anytime soon (unless it’s through a writer’s clever chicanery). But that didn’t stop the series’ cast from winning big at the Emmy Awards this week.

Bryan Cranston won for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, his fourth win, while costars Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn won for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress respectively.

Those are three of Breaking Bad’s six wins — which also included awards for Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Drama, and Camera Editing. In all, the AMC series garnered 16 nominations.

No one is more pleased than Sony Pictures Television (SPT), the show’s producer, who considers Monday night’s dramatic sweep a huge affirmation.

SPT President Steven Mosko thanked the voters and attested that Breaking Bad is one of the best series ever on TV. “We are so proud of the show and congratulate everyone who won awards this evening and all those who were a part of bringing Walter White to the screen,” he said.

Created by Vince Gilligan and executive produced by Mark Johnson and Michelle MacLaren, the program (if you don’t know) is about a chemistry teacher dying of cancer who turns to meth dealing and a life of crime to secure his family’s future. The show debuted on AMC in January of 2008, and aired Sundays at 10 p.m., also the timeslot of the network’s other hits — Mad Men and The Walking Dead.

The series had previously garnered ten Emmy Award wins – including the 2013 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series – two Peabodys, and been named to the American Film Institute’s (AFI) list of the “Top 10 Programs of the Year” five times (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).

Breaking Bad starred Bryan Cranston, a four-time Emmy winner; Aaron Paul, a three-time Emmy® winner; and two-time Emmy® winner Anna Gunn. The show costarred Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, and Bob Odenkirk.

Sony Pictures Television also earned Emmys for three additional series including Shark Tank, winner for Outstanding Structured Reality Program; The Blacklist for Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Miniseries or Movie for and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Allison Janney’s performance in Masters of Sex.
