Phelan’s NFL Draft Projections

Let’s see if we can play matchmaker as we pair prospects with teams.

Merry NFL Draft Day folks!

With countless mock drafts out there already I decided to throw my hat in the ring. Fashionably late for dramatic effect, of course. I’m going to give y’all each selection 1-32 straight up and at the end we will take a quick peek at teams most likely to get antsy and pull the trigger on a trade. Without further ado here is your I Got A Phelan 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

Pick #1
Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams, QB, USC.
Will the fortunes finally turn for the Windy City signal callers? We will see.

Pick #2
Washington Commanders
Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina.
With the contentious vibe around the commanders and Jayden Daniel’s I think they Maye change their mind.

Pick #3
New England Patriots
Jayden Daniel’s, QB, LSU.
In a hope to return the QB position to HOF level NE goes with the Bayou Boy himself.

Pick #4
Arizona Cardinals
Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, OSU.
Relying on the genetic pool and the other worldly talent shown the Cardinals give Murray a true number one.

Pick #5
Los Angeles Chargers
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU.
In an incredibly deep class Daniel’s #1 is now set to replace Keenan Allen.

Pick #6
New York Giants
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington.
Three QB’s, Three receivers, now equality at its finest.

Pick #7
Tennessee Titans
Joe Alt, LT, Notre Dame
A big man filling a big need here for Tennessee.

Pick #8
Atlanta Falcons
Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
There’s been an edge pick Bruin for awhile and here it is!

Pick #9
Chicago Bears
Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
A protector to protect a potential super star. Makes sense to me.

Pick #10
New York Jets
Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia.
Arguably the most talented player in the draft goes to the Jets at #10.

Pick #11
Minnesota Vikings
JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan.
Dude feels like Kirk Cousins younger brother. I’m Phelan it.

Pick #12
Denver Broncos
Bo Nix, QB, Oregon.
A college veteran comparable to Russell Wilson. Take two Denver. Take two.

Pick #13
Las Vegas Raiders
Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington.
A budding love interest late in the draft process comes true.

Pick #14
New Orleans Saints
Cooper Dejean, CB, Iowa.
Maybe not the top need, but he’s too talented to slip further.

Pick #15
Indianapolis Colts
Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo.
Back to back lockdowns taken here.

Pick #16
Seattle Seahawks
Jer’zhan Newton, DT, Illinois.
I’m keying the phrase “Nuketon” now, because he’ll be blowing up lines for years to come.

Pick #17
Jacksonville Jaguars
Byron Murphy, DT, Texas.
In the theme of repeats another disruptive force off the board.

Pick #18
Cincinnati Bengals
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas.
With Higgins wanting out they better give Burrow a new toy. Or else Joe Cool may put some heat on the front office.

Pick #19
Los Angeles Rams
Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State.
In a post Arron Donald world the Rams must find new ways to create pressure.

Pick #20
Pittsburgh Steelers
Troy Fautanu, OT, Washington.
A man as strong as steel is on his way to Pittsburgh. Fitting.

Pick #21
Miami Dolphins
Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon.
They need an enforcer in the middle of the OL. This is it.

Pick #22
Philadelphia Eagles
Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama.
Feel the love Terrion you are on your way to Philly!

Pick #23
Minnesota Vikings
Brian Thomas Jr, WR, LSU.
Taking a dip into WR university the Vikings pair a playmaker with their rookie QB.

Pick #24
Dallas Cowboys
Jonathan Brooks, RB, Texas.
I know it’s breaking a golden rule, but Prescott has never not had an elite RB, so I think they reach and take one.

Pick #25
Green Bay Packers
Payton Wilson, LB, NC.
The first LB off the board falls all the way to number 25.

Pick #26
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota.
Do the Bucs strike gold with the Golden Gopher himself?

Pick #27
Arizona Cardnials
Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson.
From an offensive playmaker with their first selection to a defensive one with their second.

Pick #28
Buffalo Bills
Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon.
In an attempt to replace Diggs Buffalo goes WR.

Pick #29
Detroit Lions
Kool-Aid McKinstry
OH YEAH! He’s going to Detroit.

Pick #30
Baltimore Ravens
Zach Frazier, C, WVU.
Another man protecting MVP Jackson can never hurt.

Pick #31
San Francisco 49ers
Mike Sainristil, CB, Michigan.
Maybe some championship DNA will lead to the next Super Bowl.

Pick #32
Kansas City Chiefs
Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia.
A fine Ladd.. hopefully he doesn’t like street racing..

Traders.

The most likely culprits to betray their original draft position by TRADING UP.

1. Las Vegas Raiders.
Will they sit back and wait for Penix or make a make for Antonio Pierce’s man Jayden Daniel’s?

2. New York Giants.
Rumors of unhappiness with Daniel Jones could cause a surprising shake up.

3. Cincinnati Bengals.
Will the new request from Higgins and Hendricks entice them to move on up?

Thank you folks for taking the time to read my picks and predictions. Enjoy the show and support these fine young men as they take their next step toward super stardom. Y’all stay safe and enjoy draft night!
