Aeropostale Inc. has announced a new beauty partnership with social media starlet Bethany Mota to launch her first-ever signature fragrance. The Bethany Mota fragrance officially hit stores on Monday, and is available exclusively at all of Aeropostale’s 850 retail locations nationwide and on Aeropostale.com.

Mota created her YouTube channel Macbarbie07 in 2009, and it now has more than six million subscribers.  She first partnered with Aeropostale in 2013 to design a clothing collection.

“Designing my fashion line with Aero has been such a dream, and since my viewers and I are on this journey together, I wanted us to have a fragrance that’s fresh and new just in time for back to school,” said Mota. “I was involved in every aspect of bringing this to life, from choosing the perfect scent to designing the bottle, which adds that extra personalized touch that will leave a lasting impression.”

“We are thrilled to continue and expand our partnership with Bethany,” said Emilia Fabricant, Executive Vice President at Aeropostale. “Bethany Mota is authentic and our core customers closely identify with her. She is a wonderful role model, has been an Aeropostale customer herself for years, and is a truly natural fit for the brand.”

Developed by perfumer Beth Pritchard of Sunrise Beaut, The Bethany Mota fragrance blends top notes of bergamot, red berry melange and white peach; a heart of cotton candy, praline and strawberry flower, and a dry-down of vanilla sugar, crystallized musk and creamy wood. Aeropostale characterizes the fragrance as a “floral fruity gourmand.”

The artfully crafted heart-shaped bottle is dusted with gold and topped with a cap printed with a tribal pattern, three gold charms that can be added to a necklace, and a black bow, which is one of Bethany’s favorite hair accessories. The bottle is lovingly etched in black ink with “xoxo Beth.”

Mota was on hand on Monday to launch the scent at 4:00PM EST at Aeropostale’s flagship store in New York City’s Times Square for the retailer’s back-to-school event.

To promote the new fragrance, Aeropostale is hosting a corresponding Golden Ticket promotion; the retailer will stock 90,000 fragrance cartons with golden scratch-off tickets, and five of those recipients will win a trip to New York City to meet with Bethany Mota.  The remaining recipients will receive an Aeropostale discount.

The Bethany Mota Eau de Parfum retails for $25 (1.7oz) and its shimmer perfume roller ball is priced at $12. For more information, visit Aeropostale.com.
