[dropcap]T[/dropcap]oday, we get a look at a heavy weight in fighting games to soon grace the next generation: Mortal Kombat.
The upcoming installment ‘X’ showcases a trailer to give us something to expect from the series. We see the franchise’s two biggest characters, Sub-Zero and Scorpion, fighting to the death. In the trailer it’s definitely meant for cinematic awe with a rap background song that at first seemed out of place but fit the trailer nicely. The X-Ray moves are back which was a nice and fun addition to the self titled Mortal Kombat as well as the destructible environments.
Not only did they show the environments destructible, but you could use the environment around you to your advantage. We see Sub Zero rip off a branch, freeze it, and slam it against Scorpions head.
If anyone has played Injustice: God’s Among Us, made by the same developer, you could use your environments to battle your opponents. This is looking very promising and very much so looking forward to playing this on the next gen.
