[dropcap]F[/dropcap]or my return for writing articles I really wanted to cover this topic and get it out there. When a new console is released, there is of course a console war. Everyone get’s involved in it. Now at the start Microsoft got bashed and in my personal opinion they should have. They were not doing what I, remember personal opinion, thought was best for gamers. They were going down a slippery slope to making me a full time Playstation Nation member. But, they reversed. They saw all the negativity, they knew if they continued down that path it would hurt them too much in the long run. And I respect them for that.

I watch a lot of YouTube. I probably watch it more than I do actually television. One of my favorite channels to watch is Boogie2988’s channel. He just vlogged about something that made me realize something. The bottom line of the console wars is, there is no war. There is no spoon. You see, both consoles have their perks. Both consoles have their downsides. Both consoles are worth having and enjoying.

I can relate to Boogie as growing up I didn’t have much money. I still really don’t have that much money at all. So buying a brand new console at launch, doesn’t happen for me. In the long run however, for this past console generation, I have been able to attain an Xbox 360 and a Playstation 3. Both are excellent consoles and both have great libraries of games.

So what this is all about is the games. We like games, we want to play them. If you’re looking to get a new console see what your friends are getting. Do the majority of your friends have Xbox One’s or Playstation 4’s? Because if you do any sort of online gaming you want to keep up with your community. You can always save up for the other console later. The same goes for the Wii U and a gaming PC. Right now I’m lacking with the new consoles and my PC is ancient. So when I do get the money to get these I’m going to try and acquire them all because I love gaming.

There will still be fans of certain consoles and people that will only play on certain consoles. But I hope to break that mold. Because there are such good games across both. Right now the Xbox One and PC are getting Titanfall and that looks extremely fun to me. But it’s not on Playstation 4. Infamous Second Sun is coming out soon but only available on Playstation 4. So you see there are so many good games that I feel we need to stop worrying about what system they are on. And start reviewing and critiquing the games themselves.

Some new games aren’t that good. Some companies are using micro-transactions and day one DLC’s and that’s something I’m strongly against. We need to make sure that no matter what console it’s one that the gaming companies are making good quality games for us. So let’s put the console wars to rest. No matter what it is. Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, or Wii U. Get them, enjoy them, and game on!
