What a way to start a wild and zany Riot Fest weekend in Chicago.
Early in the day on Day One (Friday), Violet Grohl graced Douglass Park on the Riot Stage with a 30-minute, 8-song set. The daughter of Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Violet showed she had a brand of musicianship all her own. Grohl released her debut record Be Sweet To Me this past May and has been making the rounds since June in support of the release.
Riot Fest was one of many festivals stops for the 20-year old. The setlist included singles “Cool Buzz,” “Bug In The Cake” and “Applefish.” While Grohl is no stranger to performing on stage, she seems to be finding her footing still as a live performer as she seemed somewhat shy or nervous in front of a packed field of concert goers.
Scheduled to perform at All Things Go this weekend, Grohl will head to Europe for the first half of October before touring the US West Coast later this fall.
