Earlier this month Animals As Leaders came through Detroit on their current headlining tour, bringing along the likes of After The Burial, Navene-K, and Chon to play for an enthused crowd at Saint Andrew’s Hall. With their newest release, ‘The Joy of Motion’ set to be drop later this month, The Pit sat down with Animal’s drummer Matt Garstka to discuss the experience of hitting the road, what makes the band’s approach to music unique, and why AAL has been a perfect fit for the Berklee educated musician.
