Michigan earned a series victory against the San Diego Toreros over the weekend, going 2-1 overall.
The Wolverines (6-4) dropped the first game in extra innings, 6-5, as San Diego took advantage of the inconsistent pitching from Michigan. The Wolverines rebounded, winning 9-0 on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday to take the series at Cunningham Stadium in San Diego.
Redshirt freshman Carson Luna led the Wolverines batting average over the weekend, hitting .625 with five hits. Luna added three runs and a walk in his two starts.
Coming off three home runs last weekend, junior Colby Turner went 7 for 14 against San Diego with three hits, five runs with six RBIs. Colby tuner has the second best batting average at .333 and leads the Wolverines with a .964 OPS.
Brendan Stressler leads Michigan with a .415 batting average and went 5 for 14 at the plate against San Diego, also scoring three home runs.
Michigan continues its West Coast trip on Tuesday as the Wolverines battle California State Northridge. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT.
