Tuesday night turned out to be a little more glorious for Bobby Roode than Saturday at NXT: Takeover.
The glorious superstar made his main-roster debut on Smackdown Live, interrupting the in-ring shtick of heel Aiden English.
Roode set up English with a spinebuster before finishing him off with his signature Glorious DDT for the pinfall victory. Following the match, Roode got a hero’s welcome in his interview with Renee Young.
The 40-year-old lost his title Saturday night at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II to Drew McIntyre following a championship reign of nearly seven months, winning the belt from Shinsuke Nakamura.
Roode made his WWE in-ring debut in June 2016 after a 12-year run with TNA, where was known best as a six-time TNA World Tag Team champion, nearly all of them coming with James Storm as part of Beer Money, Inc. His TNA World Heavyweight Champion reign of 256, a company record, included notable wins over Storm, A.J. Styles, Jeff Hardy, Sting and Rob Van Dam.
