I’ve Got A Phelan: Having a Short Memory

Last week was rough and we apologize. This week, Jaden Phelan feels better about his plays for college football and the NFL....

I’m going start off this week by saying I am sorry.

Someone must of peed in the football gods cheerios last week, because that was just a miserable sportsbook weekend. I was far from the only one with a bad week. I, from the beginning, knew I didn’t like the slate, but that just straight up hurt.

This week we are going be like the rest of the legendary stars in the sports world and practice something they preach. We are going to have a short memory, nail these picks, and get back to winning money like we have all year. LETS DO THIS THING!

UPSETS OF THE WEEK

NCAA Prediction

Duke (+420) over North Carolina (-525): Looking to earn this road upset victory the blue devils are coming to prove they belong still. The Blue Devil QB room is unsure right now, but truthfully where it’s Leonard or Loftis I think they can do enough to pull out a win. Duke plays some blue collar, hard hitting, in your face defense. Something the Tar Heels have struggled with. Typically a rivalry that draws more attention on the hard wood is set to be an exciting and surprising gridiron classic.

NFL Prediction

Washington Commanders (+215) over Seattle Seahawks (-255): Looking to stay alive in the NFC playoff race and get back to .500 is the Commanders and they plan to do so against a Seattle team who looked abysmal in their loss to Baltimore last week. I’m not a believer in Seattle and I watched these Commanders hang with the in the conference Eagles in two match ups already. They play a tough schedule and need to win games like this week to have a chance. I like what they bring to the table and depending on what version of Sam Howell shows up will factor heavily into what this game will look like. Both middle of the pack teams, but the books like the Seahawks at home. I got a Phelan they are wrong.

Money Line Predictions

NCAA Prediction

Missouri (+125) over Tennessee (-145): Going with my home state team in this top 15 clash MU came out last week and dang near knocked off Georgia. Up to that point I didn’t believe they could hang with the top dogs, but now my opinion has changed. This is an athletic, determined, and truly entertaining squad to watch. Tennessee suffered a major loss at CB and Mr.Burden is salivating at the chance to flip the script of how this game has looked the last few meeting. MU also has the most dominant defense it’s had it some time. Tennessee isn’t going to volunteer to lose this game, but MU is coming to take this one and make a strong case to be a top 10 team come next weeks rankings.

NFL Prediction

New Orleans Saints (-155) over Minnesota Vikings (+135): The Saints are a pretty average team, but I think they are just average enough to knock off the Joshua Dobbs and Justin Jefferson less Vikings. Don’t get me wrong Joshua Dobbs is a dog, but someone doesn’t bounce from team to team like they do if they are particularly good. He’s done some fun things in this league, but the limitations are evident and the Saints defense is nasty. I don’t think they can consistently move the ball this week at all. With 3 games of scoring 24+ points the Saints offense also has appeared to find their footing. This all adds up to what I see being a two score victory for the the Saints.

SPREADS

NCAA Prediction

Kentucky (+11 at -110) over Alabama (-11 at -110): The Wildcats are 6-3, but all three losses are to teams currently in the top 15. They have looked dominant at times and while Bama has seemed to figure it out this still isn’t the same tide of old. -11 I feel is very generous in this for Alabama as they have shown some holes in the roster we haven’t seen. Also the Wildcats don’t want to be the team that allows Alabama to clinch the SEC WEST. I don’t know if tbeh have enough to pull off an upset,  but to keep it within 11? They are more than capable.

NFL Prediction

Atlanta Falcons (-1 and 1/2 at -114) over Arizona Cardinals  (+1 and 1/2 at -106): After 11 months I expect Murray to be rusty especially with the lack of weapons the Cardinals possess. James Connor is coming back too (potentially) but running backs don’t usually bounce back from major injuries right away either. The Falcons are coming off a heartbreaking loss to CJ Stroud and the Texans and gotta be still fuming coming into this week. I hope they use Bijan appropriately and if they execute the game plan I don’t see any reason they can’t win by at least a few points. Arizona is probably more likely concerned about their battle for the number one pick versus their battles on the field. Atlanta is in a relatively weak division and should plenty motivated to put on a show.

WOLVERINE WINNER

Michigan money line and the under at (+180): FINALLY(!) Michigan plays a ranked team and it’s non other than the 10th-ranked Nittany Lions. This is a showdown of the top two defenses in the FBS. This one is going to be a barn cooler versus a barn warmer. Michigan’s offense has  been great,  but they haven’t been tested. This will be tough,  but in an attempt to give the big ten a big middle finger Michigan is going to continue their winning ways and show that they can overcome and adversity.

Well, I appreciate all of you who are sticking with me and hold the  belief that we can get back on track. My confidence has not wavered and I feel a lot better as a whole this week. It’s a tough game predicting the unpredictable, but I am here to give you your best shot at doing exactly that. I eat, sleep, and breathe this sport and do all I can to give you the best odds to profit from our nations biggest sport. Their will always be highs and lows that’s unavoidable, but my oath to you is to continue to dig deep and find the nuggets that others overlook that play the  biggest roles in victory or defeat. I’ve got a Phelan this week is going to be a huge week for us. Once again thank you and as always good luck!
