In case you missed it, Michigan natives We Came As Romans sold out close to the entire Cold Like Tour. The tour wrapped up last weekend with  two Michigan shows in Pontiac and Grand Rapids.

The band sold out more than half of the tour dates as they were accompanied by The Plot in You, Oceans Ate Alaska, Currents and Tempting Fate.

Tempting Fate from LA opened the evening at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, MI following local band Until Solace. Vocalist Cory Beecher raised the energy of the crowd as he joined them at the barrier.

Currents, a band that has quickly grown in popularity after the release of their 2017 album The Place I Feel Safest took the stage next. The band opened with their 2015 song “Anxiety”. The rest of the setlist included songs off the most recent album including “Night Terrors” and closing song, “Withered”.

Oceans Ate Alaska opened their set with “Benzaiten” off of their 2017 album Hikari. Their metalcore sound fit in perfectly with the bill. Their set also included “Vultures and Sharks” off of their 2015 album Lost Isles

The Plot in You vocalist Landon Tewers walked on stage to an eruption of applause. The band opened with “Rigged” off of their most recent album Dispose. For long time fans, the band included “My Old Ways” and “Take Me Away” off of their 2015 album Happiness in Self Destruction. The drop in closing song “Disposable Fix” was enough to shake the entire venue, wrapping up their high energy set perfectly.

We Came As Romans each walked on stage waving to the crowd, quickly breaking into “Vultures with Clipped Wings” off of Cold Like War. Crowd surfers came in swarms to the stage and the pit opened up to one of the rowdiest of the evening.

During “Fade Away”, Kyle Pavone jumped into the sea of fans and crowd surfed back to the stage. The entire venue was singing along throughout what seemed to be the entire evening. The band included “Tracing Back Roots” and “Fade Away” off of their 2013 album Tracing Back Roots

The hometown heroes were welcomed back by a very enthusiastic, engaged crowd. The two song encore included “The World I Used to Know” and “Hope”.

Vocalist Dave Stephens posted on his Instagram today;

“I know the Cold Like War Tour ended a few days ago, but I needed some time to reflect before posting something about it. This tour was one I’ll never forget. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt such a rush of emotion from performing and this tour made me feel a similar excitement as the tours we did when we were kids just starting out. I witnessed how devoted our fans are and how much they support our band. The vibe at every show was awesome and filled with so much energy. Our fans sold out over half the shows on the tour, and the shows that didn’t sell out were all incredibly close. And as if it couldn’t get any better, I got engaged to a wonderful woman in the middle of it all! A huge thank you to our team, the bands involved, and most importantly, all of our fans for not only attending the shows, but making them so incredibly special”
