Silverstein and Tonight Alive have been trekking across North America since January with friends in Broadside and Picturesque for the Get Free Tour.

Both bands recently released killer albums. Silverstein released their ninth full-length album Dead Reflection summer of 2017 through Rise Records (The Devil Wears Prada, Cane Hill, Of Mice & Men). The album is consistent with Silverstein’s post-hardcore sound.

Tonight Alive released their fourth full-length album since 2016 through Hopeless Records (The Used, Neck Deep, Sum 41). Underworld highlights what Tonight Alive has always been about, an inspiring rock sound led by vocalist Jenna McDougall.

Kentucky metal band Picturesque kicked off the night. The band released their debut album Back to Beautiful in 2017. Their opening song “Waiting” was one of many songs from the set off that album. Others included “Monstrous Things” and “Speak Softly”.

Pop-punk band Broadside played next. They opened with their song “The Simple Type” off of their 2015 album Old Bones. Vocalist Ollie Baxter brought forth a ton of energy to get the crowd going.

The band featured songs off their 2017 album Paradise including “Hidden Colors” and “Laps Around a Picture Frame”. The band closed their set with “Coffee Talk”  off of Old Bones

Unfortunately, Tonight Alive vocalist Jenna McDougall’s cold had developed into an infection. The singer posted a statement on Instagram just before the show;

The band shortened their usually 14 song set to 6 songs, opening with “How Does It Feel?”. Despite the setback, McDougall still showcased amazing talent onstage. She interacted with fans, and was constantly thanking the fans showing her humble personality. For “Lonely Girl”, McDougall received all the help she needed as the crowd sang along every word. The band closed with “Temple” off of Underworld.

Silverstein came out with immense energy to “Ghost”, the first single off of Dead Reflection. Without wasting a moment, the band kicked right into long time favorite “Massachusetts”.

Crowd surfers were coming up by the handful, keeping The Crofoot security on their toes. Other fan favorites included “A Midwestern State of Emergency” and “Smile in Your Sleep”.

Guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau jammed on the keyboard for a solo during “Arrivals”, a song off of the band’s 2007 album This Is How the Wind Shifts. For “My Heroine”, vocalist Shane Told started the song off acoustically on the guitar, until the full band kicked in for the ending.

The band closed with a two song encore that included “Discovering the Waterfront” and “Afterglow”.

Dead Reflection and Underworld are both available now by all major distributors.
