The American Nightmare Tour truly stuck to it’s name as headliners Bring Me the Horizon, and guests Underoath and Beartooth, brought chills to the stage when they sold out Detroit’s Masonic Temple.

The venue was completely packed less than an hour after doors opened. Metalcore band Beartooth opened the night with Caleb Shomo’s intense vocals igniting the crowd. Opening with “Aggressive” off of their latest LP Aggressive, the band never had a dull moment. Along with recent songs, favorites such as “Body Bag,” “In Between” and “The Lines” off of Body Bag were performed. I truly believe there was not one song that the fans were not singing along every single word to.

Making their comeback since the recent reunion of the band, Underoath’s 11 song set was one that longtime fans had been dying to see again. Vocalist Spencer Chamberlin didn’t stop moving and interacting with the crowd, climbing into the crowd’s arms for their closing song “Writing on the Walls.”

Bring Me the Horizon received by far the largest crowd reaction of the night. Their set started off with a literal bang as streamers exploded onto the crowd as they performed “Happy Song”. Vocalist Oliver Sykes could hardly be heard over the sound of the crowd singing along with them. The band performed their old single “Chelsea Smile”. Oli broke the crowd into a wall of death for the infamous song “Antivist” as middle fingers were held in the air. Lighters filled the air as the band closed with “Drown.”

Bring Me the Horizon put on a breathtaking performance.
