The Notre Dame football team announced it’s captains for the 2016 season Wednesday following practice.

Seniors Issac Rochell (defensive end), Mike McGlinchey (offensive tackle), James Onwualu (linebacker) and Torii Hunter Jr. (wide receiver) will serve as captains. Head  Coach Brian Kelly mentioned not only the groups leadership but experience made them the best choices for the role.

“As we enter the season things start to shift in focus on playing games and what goes on with that, so these guys have been in the battles; have maneuvered through them and got great experience; and they’re great young men, too,” Kelly said.

It’s clear that these four men embody what Kelly wants from his team, with some shade being tossed at those arrested over the past weekend.
