We here at The Pit: Sports and Entertainment are saddened to inform our readers that WWE Hall of Famer and living legend Dusty Rhodes (Virgil Runnels) passed away earlier today at the age of 69.

Rhodes will be remembered not only for his dedication to his craft and the impact it left on the professional wrestling industry, but through his sons, current WWE roster stars Goldust and Stardust (Dustin Runnels and Cody Runnels, respectively), and the numerous amount of talent he personally worked with and helped catapult into glory.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Runnel family.
