[dropcap]S[/dropcap]o, this was suppose to be last week’s ROTR Throwback but we skipped a week. Oops!

Anyway, this week we feature Corey Taylor of Stone Sour (and Slipknot!) as our ROTR Throwback. The group made their Rock On The Range debut in 2013, performing on the main stage just before Smashing Pumpkins closed out the night.

Stone Sour played for about an hour, playing their hits while showing their most recent release at the time some love. With all shows on the other stages over by the time Stone Sour took the stage, fans packed then-Columbus Crew Stadium for the heavy metal giants.

While this was Stone Sour’s first stop at the festival, it was the second appearance of Corey Taylor and Jim Root. Both members of Slipknot as well as Stone Sour at the time, they had visited the festival as main stage headliners in 2009 with Slipknot.

And in 2015, Slipknot make their return to the newly-named MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus in support of their recent album, .5: The Gray Chapter. What can fans expect out of Taylor, Root and Slipknot this May? We will find out!

In 2015, Rock On The Range will be headlined by Slipknot, Judas Priest and Linkin Park while the undercard features a slew of acts that are sure to provide for a weekend of sheer face-melting rock and metal. Rock On The Range will take place May 15-17 at MAPFRE Stadium, home of the Columbus Crew SC and the MLS.
