[dropcap]O[/dropcap]n a rainy Tuesday night in Columbus, Ohio, Crew SC supporters and season ticket holders were out in full force to support the team at the new kit release event.

With balcony overhangs decked out in black and gold supporter tifos, food trucks outside, and loud supporter section chants, a packed house at The Bluestone rivaled that of a match day atmosphere at MAPFRE Stadium.

Both on-stage during the kit release and on-camera, Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter expressed strong optimism about the club’s re-branding and the supporter culture.

“The guys were excited to put on both of the kits. Turnout tonight was amazing. I wish we could have one of these events every other week”, said Berhalter.

Aside from the new kits and introductions, many Crew SC players were eager to transition from the winter training pitches to match day. “We’re picking up momentum and ready to go into the regular season,” said midfielder and team captain Wil Trapp.

With new club additions such as veteran forward Kei Kamara, depth and talent at all eleven positions will be key factors to facilitate team chemistry both on and off the pitch.

One of the big concerned yet to be solved is the renewal of the CBA to avoid a potential player strike as early as Friday. Crew SC players that the PIT spoke to on and off camera had hoped that Tuesday’s meetings between the Major League Soccer Player’s Union (MLSPA) and team owners would be a constructive dialogue to make significant headway. “We have a great group of guys this year that are focused on getting back on the field this weekend at Houston to build on last year’s success”, said forward and Crew SC veteran Aaron Schoenfeld.

With defending champions L.A. Galaxy set to host the MLS season opener against the Chicago Fire on Friday at 10 p.m., all road teams set to travel have temporarily halted travel plans until a final deal is met.
