Wolves conclude exhibition play with a win

The Chicago Wolves won their third and final exhibition match against Midwest Division foe Milwaukee Admirals....

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Chicago Wolves picked up their third win in as many nights after defeating the Milwaukee Admirals, 3-2, in overtime.

Chicago snared an early 2-0 lead after the first period on goals from John McCarthy and Sebastian Wannstrom. The Admirals were able to find a goal in each of the final two periods, getting a second period powerplay goal from Miikka Salomaki to cut the lead in half. Then in the third period, Defensman Garrett Noonan blasted in another powerplay goal for Milwaukee to send the game into the extra frame.

It only took 2:05 of overtime before home town hero Mike Embach put the puck past Milwaukee goltender Marek Mazanec, who had 27 saves in the loss, to help the Wolves improve to a 3-1-0 record in the AHL pre season for Milwaukee and Chicago.

The Wolves will open their 21st season on Saturday October 11th at home when they host the Charlotte Checkers. The AHL Regular Season begins Friday October 10th.
