The first preview of the highly anticipated new series Girl Meets World was released on Thursday.
Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews (Danielle Fishel) will be reunited on-screen once again in the Disney Channel show, a spin-off of the popular ABC series Boy Meets World, which ran for seven seasons, from 1993 to 2000.
The show is centered on the couple’s young daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), as the two girls try and find a place in this world upon starting the seventh grade.
After rumors started back in November 2012 about the spin-off series, it is finally set to air this summer.
It is uncertain as to whether their roles will be recurring or cameo appearances, but Boy Meets World fans can expect to see Cory’s life-long best friend Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) and Cory and Topanga’s teacher and mentor George Feeny (William Daniels) in the new series.
One thing that audiences both young and old can be sure of is that they will have an all-new Matthews’ family to fall in love with.
