Welcome back to the Weekly Listen Review. I post on the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of music. This is for pretty much any genre. I feel that the albums, artists, and songs I review are ones you probably listen to as well. Sorry but you’ll hear no reviews for country music from me.
The Good
To start Spotify is still one of my favorite programs to find new music. This past week and a half was no exception. I just found some hardcore to go with the dance floor. The Browning blew me away as soon as I queued up the top played track Bloodlust. These guys mixed some heavy hard techno beats with hardcore metal. Definitely unique. It takes a lot to help me get into hardcore bands lately (mainly because they all sound the same). The Browning stands out. I found myself wanting to dance, wanting to play Team Deathmatch, and headbanging all at the same time. Give their whole album a listen!

This next band blew me away and I had not heard of them yet. TesseracT is a British djent band that sounds a bit like Thursday mixed with Tool. That type of combination creates amazing results. This appeared on a random within my Spotify radio. So far every track I have listened to has been great. I highly recommend checking out the video below. Chimp Spanner. I haven’t been this excited about Electronic Metal since I first heard Machinae Supremacy. Chimp Spanner is all instrumental and he has some sick tunes. They start brutal and then go into some high fantasy realm where I’m battling space dragons. Seriously epic and you should definitely check it out. Not only does it fulfill the heaviness of metal but it also throws a ton of nods to some video game soundtracks. Definitely worth a listen.
