The Golden Grizzlies of Oakland University earned their first regular-season Horizon League title following a 2-2 draw with Valparaiso Friday night.
Less than a month ago, it was announced that Oakland University would be moving from the Summit League to the Horizon League in July of this year. Being alumni of Oakland, we can’t help but find ourselves with a somewhat vested interest in their decision.
Tuesday (May 7, 2013), Oakland University’s Board of Trustee’s met to vote on the conference switch from the Summit League to the Horizon League. After a presentation by Huth, the board ultimately voted to approve the conference switch. Oakland’s move will be effective July 1, 2013.
