Mind of Ham: Things Lions need to change before week one

Blogger Adam Hammond gives his thoughts on the Detroit Lions as the preseason winds down....

I’ve been watching the last three weeks and, and all its been giving me is a headache, and as a fan, its nothing new from the  beginning of last year.

They got a lot of stuff to work on like the running game; we all know to have a success passing game you have to have a solid  run game. Last season the total rushing was 320 yards last year. This is a big issue they need too work on in my eyes.

No more Calvin Johnson so the question I ask how are they gonna utilize the wide receiver core with out their big man? The signing of Anqoun Bolden and Marvin Jones should help a little but they’re no Megatron. Yeah, if Anqoun Bolden was in his prime and Marvin Jones was not a injury risk and Eric Ebron could play to his potential they could be a big threat and be in the mix with a passing threat alongside with Golden Tate.

Do I expect some kind of passing threat? Yes, but not consistent due to the lack of a run game.

The last issue I want to talk about is the offensive line. The Taylor Decker draft pick was a great pick for the future and he will be better when he gains experience in the NFL, but the guys lined up next to him showed you what they have and its no surprise if Matthew Stafford has a problem being comfortable in the pocket.

Thats from the mind of Ham.
