Inclement weather kept Florida State off the field for a second straight weekend. Rain first plagued the Seminoles during NC State’s trip to Tallahassee. Rain and snow once again cut things short for the ‘Noles during their trip to take on the Boston College Eagles.

Rain limited the FSU-NC State weekend series to only a Friday night matchup, which Florida State won 8-5 due to a six run first inning.

Saturday and Sunday’s matchups were both canceled due to heavy rainfall. No. 9 Florida State won the series against No. 19 NC State with their Friday night victory.

Missing two conference games does not hurt Florida State (19-6, 7-1) as much as it could other teams in the conference who will be looking for a better seed once the ACC tournament rolls around. FSU will be at the top of the conference despite missing these two games.

The Seminoles put NC State behind them, turning their attention to Boston College, who sits at the bottom of the ACC.

FSU won game one of their three game series 3-0. Yet that would be the teams’ only game due to severe weather. For a second straight weekend, the ‘Noles won the series with only a one game win.

Missing four games is not ideal for any school, but it is especially unfortunate when facing a team like Boston College, a series FSU hoped to sweep.

FSU managed to compensate for the loss of these four games, scheduling Texas Tech for a midweek series which will take place in Tallahassee on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5th and 6th. First pitch is set for 6 P.M. for both games.

No. 22 Texas Tech (20-8, 8-1) has won four in a row and nine of its last ten matchups. The Red Raiders bring in a high powered offense boasting five guys with at least four homeruns. Cal Raleigh is the only player with four homeruns for No. 9 Florida State.

Saturday starter Drew Carlton will get the ball on Tuesday and Sunday starter Cole Sands will follow up his performance on Wednesday. Both will likely be controlled starts since they turn around and pitch this coming weekend.
