[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Big Ten Network will premiere their newest BTN Original, Big Ten Treasure Hunters, Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

The program will showcase memorabilia expert John Arcand as he travels around the Midwest, looking for America’s top Big Ten merchandise and pieces of history. Arcand will have interviews with Big Ten collectors and historians on the show, and will also include real time negotiation between himself and collectors.

Big Ten Treasure Hunter represents an evolution in our original programming, featuring great storytelling around these rare collectible items, and entertaining our viewers in a new and creative way,” Bill Friedman, coordinating producer of BTN Originals, said in a press release Monday. “The real-time negotiations between John and the collectors add another layer of intrigue to the show.”

Arcand, the owner of Big John & Little Debby’s Collectibles, has been in the sports memorabilia business for over 25 years. He is always looking for new memorabilia, especially with the two new additions of Big Ten teams this summer in Maryland and Rutgers.

The first episode of Big Ten Treasure Hunters will focus on the University of Michigan and Indiana University, respectively. Arcand will be meeting with a Michigan collector with an unbelievable and unique Wolverines collection. Then, Arcand will visit a Hoosier fan who is lucky enough to own a piece of the old Assembly Hall basketball floor, the exact floor in which Bobby Knight hurled a red chair across the court.

The 8 episode series, which each of the 14 schools will be featured on at least once, can be seen on the Big Ten Network or on the BTN2Go app.
