Florida State took on the Boston College Eagles on a rare Friday night game in Tallahassee. FSU honored the seniors before they hit the gas and pulled away from the Eagles early, the Seminoles would handle Boston College easily 45-7.

This was just the second game FSU has ever played on Friday night in Doak Campbell Stadium, but that story was pushed aside as all eyes were on Dalvin Cook entering the game. Cook was just 127 yards’ shy of breaking the all-time rushing record in Seminoles history. The Junior running back from Miami would fall just 19 yards short of Seminole great Warrick Dunn’s record. Cook gained 108 yards on the ground and was able to find the end zone once.

As for the game itself, the ‘Noles (7-3, 4-3) jumped on the Eagles (4-6, 1-6) early and often. Freshman quarterback Deondre Francois found Auden Tate and Nyqwan Murray on back too back possessions to start the game and push Florida State out in front 14-0.

Dalvin Cook would make it 21-0 with 2:50 remaining in the 2nd quarter, Cook found the end zone from 19 yards out.

Francois would find Travis Rudolph for the 20-yard touchdown connection, Francois third touchdown of the game bring the ‘Nole lead up to 28-0.

Francois would take a shot on in the 3rd quarter, head coach Jimbo Fisher said Francois was able to stay in the game but with a comfortable lead it was not worth him staying in and senior quarterback Sean Maguire would get to see some action on senior night.

Francois would finish the night with three touchdowns and 183 yards through the air on 24 attempts.

Maguire would pick up right where Francois left him, Maguire found Tate for his second touchdown of the game. Tate has emerged as one of the go-to receivers on this Seminoles team, at 6’5 he has been a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks. He caught six passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

Maguire would find fullback Freddie Stevenson in the fourth quarter, once again extending the Seminoles lead to 45-0.

The Eagles avoided the shutout in Tallahassee, on a late nine play 75-yard drive. Richard Wilson capped on the impressive drive with the one yard run to bring us to 45-7, which would also be our final.

Florida State will hit the road as the travel to Syracuse for a November 19th matchup, and then the ‘Noles will head back to Tallahassee as they prepare to take on the Florida Gators.
