Set times released for Sonic Temple’s Thursday lineup

Cypress Hill, August Burns Red top our list of must-see acts on the first day

Set times for the first day of Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival were released on Thursday.

Disturbed will end the night on the Temple Stage from 9:20-10:50 p.m. During that time, Machine Head will be performing on the Sanctuary Stage. From 8:05 p.m. to 9:15, Judas Priest will be closing out the Cathedral Stage while Cypress Hill plays an hour-long set on the Citadel Stage.

Hotbox will open the festival with a 25-minute set on the Sanctuary Stage beginning at 11:20 a.m. on May 16.

With the festival expanding to four stages this year, the format has slightly altered. In the past, overlap was minimal as main stage and small stage acts shared slot time while second stage was largely the only active one in between sets on the other two.

This year, the Temple and Sanctuary stages will be active in the same block while the Cathedral and Citadel stages will share time too. This format may make catching some acts difficult.

Our recommendations

The first day of Sonic Temple packs some favorites of TPM. We recommend catching Nita Strauss, Miss May I, The Ghost Inside, Mudvayne, Electric Callboy, August Burns Red and then splitting time between Cypress Hill and Judas Priest.

Our group may split off to watch Disturbed and Machine Head.

The full schedule for May 16 can be seen below. Sonic Temple runs from May 16 through May 19 in Columbus, Ohio.
