David Osterhout didn’t want Bike Routes to remain an acoustic outfit.
His earlier work was largely just him and his acoustic guitar, but after signing with Blue Grape Music, he wanted the Rush of Energy EP to have more instrumentation. Working alongside producer and friend Zach Tuch, the New Jersey-native created six new songs that keep the charm and emotion of his earlier work while bringing new energy and passion to the Bike Routes discography.
Osterhout spoke with TPM earlier this week to discuss the new music, his writing process and his beginnings in music.
Bike Routes will tour the US this winter, playing support for Mat Kerekes and Equipment. The tour makes a stop at Cobra Lounge in Chicago, IL on February 10, 2025. Learn more about Bike Routes here.
