Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines football team head across the Atlantic ocean to Rome this spring for a week of practice.

Once the players are finished with their winter semesters, the Wolverines will be headed to Rome, Italy where they will not only have 3 practices at AS Roma, but also visit U.S troops and see the sights that Rome has to offer.

“We were looking to provide our student-athletes with a great educational, cultural and international football experience,” said Harbaugh. “I am excited that our student-athletes will be able to take advantage of this amazing educational opportunity, be exposed to another culture and be ambassadors for the United States and the University of Michigan during our visit to Rome.”

Along with the practices, the players will be able to look into study-abroad opportunities and international internships that could help them towards their careers outside of football.

“The study abroad and international internships will better prepare our student-athletes to compete in today’s global economy,” Harbaugh said. “We are committed to offering our students a broad experience that will prepare these young men for life after football.”

Michigan fans, there still will be a spring game for you on Saturday, April 15 inside the Big House. This will be the first time that fans and media get the opportunity to see what the Wolverines will look like going into the 2017-18 season.
