Lacey Sturm-Life Screams-Cover Art[dropcap]S[/dropcap]he’s back in the game ladies and gentlemen. The former Flyleaf front-woman, Lacey Sturm, is set to release her first solo record, “Life Screams,” on Friday February 12th through Followspot records with the Fuel Music distribution and I had the privilege to preview it beforehand.

Life Screams starts off strong with the first single released to the public titled, “Impossible.” Right away, you can hear that Lacey has not lost her touch since her hiatus from the music world. She brings back her powerful, yet subtle vocals in Impossible and continues through the next two tracks.

By far my favorite parts to the Life Screams album, are slightly early on with track 4, “Vanity,” which is not an actual song but an interlude that leads into track 5, “Rot.” When you listen to Vanity, you can really tell that Lacey is trying to tell a very powerful story with these two songs. As it carries into Rot, the song just continues the story with an intense beginning and carries through its entirety.

The intense story of the album continues for a few more tracks with “You’re Not Alone,” “Feels Like Forever,” and the album title “Life Screams,” before it slows down for a few beautiful ballads to close out her first solo album.

I have always been a fan of hers since I first heard Flyleaf back in my early high school days. If you were a fan during her Flyleaf days, her solo stuff will not disappoint those dedicated fans. Life Screams will likely end up in my top albums of 2016.

You can catch Lacey Sturm on the road during America’s Loudest Month at the following festivals:

4/30/16 Jacksonville, FL Welcome to Rockville

5/06/16 Rockingham, NC Carolina Rebellion

5/14/16 Somerset, WI Northern Invasion

5/20/16 Columbus, OH Rock on the Range
