[dropcap]T[/dropcap]hings just got a bit more interesting leading into the 2015 season for Notre Dame.

After announcing that junior running back Greg Bryant would be suspended for the first four games of the season earlier this summer, Head Coach Brian Kelly has now said that Bryant will miss the entirety of 2015 season. During summer courses, Bryant was expected to pass with a B+ but instead earned a B-, violating Notre Dame football academic policies.

“There are certain expectations that must be met on a daily basis,” Kelly said in a statement. “Quite simply, Greg did not meet those expectations.”

Bryant will not return for camp this week, either. He was expected to see more action on the field as part of a one-two punch with Tarean Folston but that role will now go to C.J. Prosise. Last year, Prosise played the role of tight end and slot receiver, but took some reps running the ball.

In 2014, Bryant carried the ball 54 times for 289 yards but saw his use diminish during the last half of the season, where he only touched the ball 11 times in the final seven games.

Notre Dame is ranked No. 11 in the preseason coaches poll and open the season at home against Texas September 5 at 7:30 p.m.
