[dropcap]A[/dropcap] late goal doomed the Golden Grizzlies as they fell to Air Force, 1-0, Sunday morning. Wes Mink recorded four saves while Austin Ricci had two shots on goal.

The Falcons scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute of action when Kevin Meyer gave a pass in the box to Cameron Duley, who came up with a one timer into the back of the net.

Despite the loss, Oakland led in shots on goal with an 8-5 advantage though trailer in overall shots, 17-16.

Oakland had two scoring chances in the first half that came up just short of scoring. In the 26th minute, Ricci took a shot that was saved and was followed six minutes later by a Cody Archibald header that was stopped. Ricci’s second shot on the mark came in the early second half but was saved by the Air Force defense.

Gerald Ben took a look to put Oakland on the board in the 59th minute with a header but was saved by Jake Schenk. The Grizzlies pushed late when John DeLion and Shawn Claud Lawson took shots to tie the game in the final minute but both were stopped.

Mink suffered his second loss of the season as the Grizzlies fell 0-4-0 on the season. Air Force improved to 3-0-2.

Oakland will return to the OU Soccer Field Saturday when they face Incarnate Word in their homecoming match. The game will be available on the Horizon League Network with a 5 p.m. ET start.
