[dropcap]U[/dropcap]K post hardcore outfit Marmozets have announced that they will release their debut album, ‘The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets‘ on September 30th in the US via Roadrunner Records. The record will be released digitally in the states, with a physical release not yet announced. The album is currently available for pre-order on iTunes, with any pre-order coming with an instant download of the band’s self titled EP (four tracks featured on the album).
Marmozets have recently made quite the splash here in North America, with the band playing this summer’s Vans Warped Tour, as well as the pre-show boat party for the first annual Alternative Press Music Awards alongside Issues and Ghost Town. To make matters even better, the band will once again join Issues and Ghost Town, as well as I Killed The Prom Queen and Nightmares, on the Journeys’ Noise Tour this fall. The tour kicks off with a special Halloween date on October 31st in Atlanta, GA and will see Marmozets make the trek through virtually all of November.
‘The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets‘ was produced by Larry Hibbitt, and showcases a band constantly growing and implementing new found skill and vitality into their uniquely off the walls sound. Marmozets is both a labor of love and a family affair in the truest sense of the words. The band is comprised of two sets of families; fronted by vocalist Becca McIntyre, who is joined by her siblings Sam and Josh, as well as brothers Jack and Will Bottomley. Despite the relatively young age of all the members, Marmozets have been active since 2010 and are fully committed as both individuals and a unit to pouring their lives into their music.
“The only way you’re going to go up is to keep training yourselves, both individually and as a band,” says Sam McIntyre, adding, “We haven’t come from out of nowhere, we’re not messing about: this is our lives.”
