[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter much anticipation and steady build up, Foo Fighters have confirmed the worldwide release of their eighth studio album, ‘Sonic Highways‘ for November 10th of this year. The album is the follow up to the band’s four time Grammy winning record, ‘Wasting Light’.
“This album is instantly recognizable as a Foo Fighters record, but there’s something deeper and more musical to it,” frontman Dave Grohl said, speaking on the nature of the album. “I think that these cities and these people influenced us to stretch out and explore new territory, without losing our ‘sound’.”
The significance of cities across the U.S. can’t be understated in the process that brought Sonic Highways to fruition. Foo Fighters recorded the album in studios located in eight different major cities throughout the country. In recognition of this, Sonic Highways is available in both CD and 180 gram vinyl format, with a collection of eight additional vinyl covers available. Each unique cover is representative of one of the eight cities where the album was recorded: Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
Fans can pre-order Sonic Highways in either CD of Vinyl format here.
Sonic Highways was produced by Foo Fighters and legendary producer Butch Vig. The record will be released on Roswell Records/RCA Records. A complete track listing of the album can be found below.
