[dropcap]O[/dropcap]f Mice & Men performed at this years Rock on the Range for their first time. The band drew quite possibly one of the largest crowds of the day at the Ernie Ball stage. The first song of the set was the heavy hitting “Public Service Announcement” which set the tone for the remainder of the show.
The band proves that they are aiming to take over the rock/metal world with a performance full of energy, commanding the crowd, and letting the fans know that they are more than proficient when it comes to their craft. The set showcased a good handful of new material from the band, with five out of eight songs coming from their new album “Restoring Force.” Three songs from the set were from previous releases.
For the song “The Depths,” vocalist Austin Carlile insisted that the crowd get down on the floor. The reason being that when the song kicks in saying “Get up!” the whole crowd would get off their feet at once and create all out mayhem. It was truly an exciting sight to be seen.
The second to last song was the bands newest single “Would You Still Be There.” This song has been getting heavy radio play which resulted in a sea of voices singing the song. “You’re Not Alone” was the song that closed the set. This song has a very bouncy beat which ultimately led the crowd to jumping up and down with no one standing still.
