Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines are ready to make a statement in 2018.

He’ll want to prove that Michigan is still amongst the elite and will continue to be a force in college football.

Coach Harbaugh announced Monday that Ole Miss transfer quarterback Shea Patterson will begin his junior year under center September 1 on the road against No. 12 Notre Dame.

If you believe the chatter that is going around about this being a make it or break it season for Harbaugh, he will have a chance to put a stamp on his coaching legacy in Ann Arbor. The Fighting Irish will be just one of five opponents that Michigan faces this season that rank within the top twelve of the AP Preseason Top 25 poll.

While Michigan starts their campaign ranked 14th, they will go up against ranked Big Ten rivals such as No. 4 Wisconsin and No. 10 Penn State at home while hitting the road against No. 11 Michigan State and that fifth-ranked Ohio State.

To help build our confidence, ESPN released their Top 50 College Football Players list a few weeks back which includes four Michigan Wolverines to watch: Rashan Gary at No. 8, Devin Bush is No. 22, starting QB Shea Patterson at No. 25 and rounding it out at No. 46 is Chase Winovich.

Do you think 2018 will be Michigan’s year or will Jim Harbaugh find himself on the hot seat in December?
