Despite the winter weather advisory causing treacherous roads, fans packed The Majestic Theatre for Neck Deep who was accompanied by Michigan natives Speak Low If You Speak Love along with Seaway and Creeper.

The show was sold out, and despite the weather the venue packed rather quickly. Creeper opened the evening with their song “Black Rain”. The band played a lot of songs off their 2017 album Eternity, In Your Arms. Vocalist Will Gould’s crooning vocals captivated during the crowd. Creeper closed their set with fan favorite “Misery”.

Michigan natives Speak Low If You Speak Love took the stage next. Vocalist Ryan Scott Graham who also plays bass for State Champs is from Westland, MI. Speak Low started off as a side project, but has quickly gained popularity. Graham released his second album Nearsighted at the beginning of 2018.

Their set opened with “Enough”. The soft, acoustic sound brought an intimacy to the set, especially during “Cannot Have It All”. The set also included songs from Graham’s debut album Everything but What You Need such as “Knots” and “Ruined”.

Canadian pop-punk band Seaway kicked up the pace with their opener, “Slam”. In Sept. of 2017 the band released their third album Vacation. The set included many songs from the album such as “Scatter My Ashes Along the Coast, or Don’t”. The amount of energy brought to the crowd was the perfect way to amp the fans up before the headliner. Seaway closed their set with “Lula on the Beach”.

Finally, Neck Deep erupted on stage to their opener “Happy Judgement Day”. Fans who braved the weather were not disappointed, as vocalist Ben Barlow constantly jumped off risers, and interacted with the crowd. The band included a wide array of songs from The Peace and The Panic including “In Bloom” and “Parachute”.

After Barlow called out venue security for unfairly attempting to kick a fan out, he urged the crowd the get rowdy for “Citizens of Earth”, one of Neck Deep’s heaviest songs. Ken Taylor from Seaway came out for “Don’t Wait” and screamed in place of Sam Carter’s guest vocals.

Barlow brought tears to fan’s eyes when he gave an acoustic solo performance of “Head to the Ground”. Barlow was joined by guitarist Fil Thorpe for “Wish You Were Here”. Lightening the mood after those two songs, Hannah Greenwood from Creeper joined Barlow for the female vocals on “A Part of Me”.

Neck Deep closed the night full force with a two song encore. After “Can’t Kick Up the Roots” the band performed the closing song off the album, “Where Do We Go When We Go”.

The Peace and The Panic tour will continue across North America through the end of February. Keep up with Neck Deep on Twitter and Instagram
