Chicago pop-punk band Knuckle Puck just wrapped up their U.S. tour in celebration of their new LP Shapeshifter. The band played St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, MI last weekend as one of the last stops on the tour.

With Confidence was removed from the tour a week previous due to sexual harassment allegations against guitarist Luke Rockets. However, Movements, Homesafe and Jetty Bones all remained on the tour as opening acts.

Jetty Bones consists of Illinois native Kelc Galluzzo and her accompanying band. Her bright green hair matched her bright personality on stage while she danced to every song. She performed the song “Innocent Party” off of her most recent EP, Old Women.

Homesafe opened their set with “Guts”. Their fast paced punk-rock sound opened up the pits and sent the crowd surfers up to the front. Vocalist and guitarist Ryan Rumchaks was constantly moving, keeping up as much energy as the crowd. The bands set included other songs from their 2016 album Evermore, including “Relapse” and “Hourglass”.

Post-hardcore band Movements recently made waves in the music scene with their release of their debut LP, Feel Something. The bands set was full of songs from the album, including “Colorblind”, Daylily”, “Deadly Dull” and “Third Degree”. The entire band took the stage by storm, with the crowd singing every song right back to vocalist Patrick Miranda.

Knuckle Puck opened their set with “Gone”, a popular song off of Shapeshifter. Vocalist Joe Taylor never stopped jumping as he sang “Fences” and “Why Would You Care?”. The bands set included more than just songs off of the new album. Songs featured from 2015 album Copacetic included “Disdain”, “Evergreen” and “Pretense”.

As the U.S. Tour came to a close, Knuckle Puck announced that they will be canceling their U.K. tour due to mental health issues. On Monday, the band announced the following statement on social media:

the past few weeks have been incredibly challenging for many in our community, including myself. recent news has resurfaced some things from my childhood that had been repressed. those experiences have had lasting effects on my mental well-being.

the realization has been difficult to comprehend and challenging to work through. due to it, knuckle puck will need to cancel our upcoming tour of mainland europe and the united kingdom. this was not an easy decision, but it is the right decision to make. it has become clear that i need to head home to begin seeking professional help to work through what i have experienced. we do not expect future touring to be affected at this time.

we are going through an incredibly trying time in our music community. it is more apparent now than ever that the space any band occupies, including my own, should be a safe space for anyone and everyone. i want to take the appropriate time to make sure i am in a healthy mental space in order to be the best person i can be for myself, for those around me, and most importantly for those we perform to.

the rest of the band and i deeply appreciate any and all support you have sent our way and hope you will be understanding of my need to be at home for some time.
