Mayday Parade “Tales Told By Dead Friends” 10 year anniversary tour

Mayday Parade is currently touring for the 10th anniversary of their first EP, "Tales Told By Dead Friends." Check out photos from their Orlando show....

Friday November 11th I had the pleasure of going to see Mayday Parade on the first day of their tour in Orlando, Florida.

The Fall tour is a 10 year anniversary of their first EP “Tales Told By Dead Friends”, with openers Modern Chemistry, a refreshing new addition to my Spotify playlist.

As expected, Mayday started their set by playing the EP in full including a bonus song included on the anniversary edition that had never been played before. Out of the 17 songs performed, three had never been played live before including “The Problem With The Big Picture Is That It’s Hard To See”, “Look Up And See Infinity, Look Down and See Nothing”, and “The Memory”.

The setlist catered to fans who had been listening to Mayday Parade for years with only two songs from their newest album and many tracks that aren’t normally performed on tour as the crowd went wild every time they realized which song was starting to be played.

At one point in the set, singer Derek Sanders took a moment to reflect on the past ten years taking note of the last time they played the small venue in downtown Orlando was almost 8 years ago and how crazy it is that an EP he wrote with his friends 10 years ago as a 19 year old could have taken them as far as they have come.

If you have a chance over the next week or so to catch these guys on their sold out tour, I highly recommend doing so as they finish the tour the day before Thanksgiving in their hometown of Tallahassee, FL.
