[dropcap]I[/dropcap]’m still trying to determine if this is great news or bad news, but earlier tonight, WWE announced that Brock Lesnar had in fact renewed his contract with the company Monday evening, before Raw hit the air.

Lesnar made the announcement Tuesday while appearing on ESPN, saying that Vince McMahon made him an offer that he “couldn’t refuse.” While details of the new contract are unknown, it is rumored that it is a new multi-year deal that could include more appearances by the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

During the ESPN appearance, Lesnar made note that his days in the octagon are over, officially retiring from the UFC.

How this is going to impact Wrestlemania come Sunday is yet to be determined, but the general consensus amongst the fans seems to be that Lesnar will in fact retain. Has WWE booked itself into a corner with this angle? Has the buildup for Roman’s push been all for naught?

I’m not entirely sure. If the rumors of Brock vs Rock at Wrestlemania 32 are to be believed, then the only conceivable way to pull it off is to keep the title on him for another calendar year. Buckle down kids, because we’re in for the long haul.
