[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he second to last film of the Hunger Games franchise, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is coming to DVD.
Katniss, also known as the “girl on fire”, set ablaze the theaters worldwide as it became the highest-grossing domestic release of 2014 when it reached nearly $333.2 million at the domestic box office and grossed $700 million worldwide, bringing the global box office for the franchise to over $2.2 billion.
Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence leads an all-star cast in Mockingjay including Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland reprising their roles from the earlier films.
In this installment, Katniss Everdeen finds herself in District 13. Though reluctant at first, Katniss becomes the symbol of a mass rebellion against the Capitol and fights to save Peeta, under the advice of friends and the leadership of President Coin.
The DVD comes many bonus features, some of these highlights including a two-hour behind-the-scenes documentary titled “The Mockingjay Lives: The Making of Mockingjay – Part 1″, “Straight from the Heart: A Tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman,” and a brand new sneak peek at The Divergent Series: Insurgent film.
The Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD is set to release on March 16th. The film will also be released to Digital HD February 17th.
