[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ecently, subscribers to The Elder Scrolls online have noticed that the six month subscription package had been taken down by Bethesda.
The fifteen dollar a month subscription equals that of World of Warcraft but many players were disappointed with the turn out of this risky MMO. Could this mean that it will fall into the same pattern as Bioware’s Old Republic? It wasn’t long ago that it’s subscription fee was dropped and it went free to play.
Another interesting thing is that Bethesda has delayed the console release of The Elder Scrolls online by six months. By the time it releases on console, we could be seeing the game going free-to-play. It would help avoid people having to pay for a half year up front just to have to it go free-to-play and then Bethesda having to issue out refunds and free in game loot.
Like any new MMO, they’re going to have to work out their bugs, but this will also entice new players if the free-to-play option was there. Bethesda still hasn’t released any official comments on these rumors.
Until then we can look forward to it if these rumors or true. Or you could be like me and just be looking forward to The Elder Scrolls VI? As always, what do you think? Comment down below and let us know what you think!
