With momma bear taking on the role of producer, three award-winning brothers, whose accolades include Best Music Video at the 2014 Santa Monica Teen Film Festival and Winner of Best Animation at the 2013  Fresh Takes Film Festival,  will begin shooting two short films in West Chester, PA and White Clay Creek Preserve this week.  Alien Communications, a short coming of age sci-fi romantic comedy will be shot in White Clay Creek Preserve, which is located in Southern Chester County, PA.

Gumball, a dramatic short film told without the use of dialog, will be filming at DK Diner in West Chester, PA.  The Theorin trio, two 16-year-old twins (Kris and Nik) and their 21-year-old brother (Kurtis) filmed on location August 20-24th.

The films were shot back to back and have brought together a cast and crew of both experienced local actors and amateurs alike.

Alien Communications lead actress, Evangeline Young (17), has appeared as a recurring guest star on CBS’s The Good Wife. New actors Luke Baxter (16) and Olivia Dalessandro (17) round out the casts. Renowned production designer, Nicholas Van Strander created the alien probe droid that will be used in one of the films.

Alien Communications is a comedy about two teenagers with strong feelings for each other investigating an alien probe that has crashed landed on Earth. As the awkwardness tension between the two teens grows, the machine starts its own investigation into the unknown emotion that they are demonstrating.

Gumball follows one night in the life of a rebellious young woman who breaks into a diner after hours with a can of spray paint.  Her intentions change after she ends up discovering what’s left of a love story.

The young directors hope to top the success the had with their last short film, Retreat, which screened at film festivals around the world this year including their most recent showing this weekend at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
