Slipknot announce upcoming album '.5: The Gray Chapter'; will embark on 'Prepare For Hell' tour in North America with Korn and King 810....

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]oday, venerable metal icons Slipknot have announced the next chapter in their creatively devastating careers. The band will release their fifth studio album, titled ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ on October 21st via Roadrunner Records. Following the release, the band will embark on the Prepare For Hell tour throughout North America; this coming immediately after their three day titular event, Knotfest.

.5: The Gray Chapter is the follow up to Slipknot’s 2008 internationally chart topping, platinum certified album ‘All Hope Is Gone’; making it the band’s first release in over six years. Slipknot unveiled their first single off the new record, ‘The Devil In I” yesterday. The new single is the second track off the upcoming album to be revealed. Earlier this month the band released ‘The Negative One’, their first piece of new music since All Hope Is Gone.

In addition to the new album, Slipknot will be joined on their upcoming Prepare for Hell tour by special guests Korn and opening act King 810. The tour will kick off on October 29th in El Paso, TX and conclude on December 7th in Boston, MA.

“We’ve been waiting a long time for this,” states Slipknot’s Corey Taylor. “Not only do we get to tour with friends who we respect, we’ve also chosen a band that represents the fury of the future.  Slipknot is coming to your town.  And hell’s coming with us.”

Before the tour begins, Slipknot will put on their rapidly growing, heavy hitting Knotfest on October 24-26th in San Bernardino, CA. The three day event marks the band’s live return to the US with a pair of headlining performances. This year’s festival also acts as the event’s epic return to North America after its inaugural run in 2012, for which it drew over 45,000 fans to attend its two day stay in Council Bluffs, IA.

Fans can pre-order .5: The Gray Chapter now through iTunes Store, with all pre-orders receiving instant downloads of the tracks ‘The Devil In I” and ‘The Negative One’. In addition, any fan who purchases a ticket to either Knotfest or the the upcoming Prepare For Hell tour from now until October 5th will receive a digital download of .5: The Gray Chapter upon its release.
