OUMen’s Soccer:

Oakland falls to Oregon State, 4-1: The Golden Grizzlies fell to the Beavers of Oregon State, 4-1 Sunday.  Miche’le Lipari scored the opening goal of the match in the third minute for the Grizzlies, but the Beavers would answer in the tenth minute when Oregon State’s Borce Atanasov took a shot from the top of the box to beat OU goaltender Scott Messer to the left side.

Grizzlies earn first win of season: Oakland improved to 1-2-2 on the season with a 2-1 win over Marshall Friday night. Matt Dudley scored the game winning goal for the Grizzlies and broke the tie in the 87 minute with an assist from Lipari, who scored the first goal for Oakland in the 16 minute.

 

Women’s Soccer:

Grizzlies shutout Broncos, 2-0: The Grizzlies first shutout of the season also handed them their second win of the year as Oakland beat Western Michigan 2-0. A cross from Brianne Horne found Abigail Haelewyn who beat the Broncos goaltender. Kyla Kellerman struck in the final minute of regulation for an assurance goal for the Grizzlies.

Oakland improves to 3-3-1 on the season: A 2-1 victory over Northern Kentucky gave Oakland their third win of the season. Meghan Reynolds and Joan Sieja scored in the first 13 minutes of the match on Oakland’s first two shots on goal. Northern Kentucky didn’t strike until the 80 minute, but couldn’t even things up before regulation was called. Oakland plays Big Ten foe Northwestern Sunday.
